l., It has been reported that union leaders belonging to the Peri.ido Accion
havoluciona.ria (PAJ), the Federacion Sindical de Guatemala (FSG), and
Confederacion de Trabajadores de Guatemala (CTG) have been trying to secure
arms for their partisans.
2. Minister of Defense, Uajor Jacobo Arbenz, a PAR sympathizer, asked CTG and
FSG leaders for lists of dependable persons to bear arms in the event of an
attempted overthrow of the Arevalo Government by the Army.
