The following developments were reported in connection with the Costa Rican
91 invasion on 10 December.
a~ Rafael Calderon Guardia, leader of the Costa flican invasion,
was reported to be in Divas, Nicaragua, as of 15 December.
b. Four trucks carrying soldiers dressed in blue field uniforms
were seen travelling south from Fanagua on the night of
13 December. The men were armed with one machine an for each
four man.
c. Juan Tavib, Cuban henchman of Calderon Guardia, was called to
Nicaraguan territory on 14 Lecember for instructions and then
arrested. He is now in the Campo del carte, near Managua.
2. Opposition elements in Nicaragua were pleased with the course of the Costa
Rican invasion. An uprising is due in Las Segovias mountain area, bat,: it
may be postponed because of the action in Costa Rica.
