A TACA plane was scheduled To depart from San Jose, Costa Rica, on 18 December, carrying Fiosendo Arguello, Jr,, Adolfo Baez Bone, Octavio Pesos Montiel, Mario Souza, and others, to F-1 Salvador and Guatemala. Their objective was to secure from the new Salvadoran Military Junta a declaration of its position with regard to the Caribbean revolutionary movementio A completely favorable answer was anticipated, based on previous knowledge of that government?s views. 2. The mission's objective in Guatemala was not revealed, but General Carlos Pesos, Mariano Morales, and other revolutionary leaders are there awaiting transportation to Costa Rican 3a The Caribbean Legion members, except for a minority who were passing as mobilized Costa Ricans, were remaining quiet in the political background for the duration of the investigation of the. international peace commissioners. Legion members were wearing civilian clothes. 4,, A doubtful alliance has been reactivated between Rosendo Arguello Jr., and the Caribbean Legion, Tentative plans include a call to present to Honduran President-elect Juan Galvez a force of Costa Rican, Salvadoran, and Guatemalan revolutionists united against Somoza, and to threaten Galvez with internal revolt if he does not join.
