Alvaro Sanclemente, who recently returned to Colombia from Venezuela because
of an incurable cancer of the throat, is presently living in Cali. He recently
was offered the position of Director of the Liberal Cultural Center, although
he will not be in a position to address labor syndicate groups for whom the
cultural project was set up. It is intended that his services will be utilized
in drawing up the organizational plans and in directing other workers in the
Cultural Institute. Although Sanclemente has not agreed to accept this position,
he has been urged to do so by Cali Communist leaders, who believe it will place
him in an excellent position to proselyte and to further Marxist principles
among laboring groups.
