support to Senator Fulgencio Batista in the latter's new political moves in

2. Senator Batista, at the moment, has no political party from which he tray
expect real support. Batista, in the past, co o the combination of the
Id.beral Party, Democratic Party, and the PSP, mment. The President

President Carlos Prio Socarras. In order to control the political support of
the Idberal Party on Priori behalf, large cash grants are being made to Suarez
Rivas through Senator Francisco "Paco" Prio, brother of the President. Batista
for the moment.. bas been denied the support of this once strong political ally.5
