Port of Zadar
1. The war damage at the port of Zadar is nearly all repaired. There are
two vessels which were sunk during the war in the harbor; about 20 divers
are removing "important objects" from the larger of the two vessels, and
preparations are under way to raise the smaller (a Danish) vessel. A
floating crane, of American manufacture, is used in the operations.
2. The warehouses are repaired but are almost empty. The POL depot,
(capacity unknown) is currently supplied by the small tanker AQUIIA
bringing gasollno and oil from Trieste. Formerly Soviet vessels supplied
this port.
3. Coal and lumber from the interior have been stockpiled along the shore.
Underwater wire nets, emplaced by the Italians, are still in place. The
lighthouse service is functioning normally and new lights have been
erected on the islands in Zadar channel.
1. Zadar is not a naval base, but Navy vessels from Sibenik and Pola are
often observed in the port.

Two former shipyards were merged under the nationalization order, and
now employ about 300 workers managed by Navy engineers. New e3a ctric
machinery arrived at the yards during the summer. There are two docks
and a motor repair shop.

6. The Kraljevi.ca shipyard has 250 employees and is managed by a Navy
engineer. Large fishing boats are constructerd here, hang a capacity
up to 300 torus.
