1. A reception in honor of the Moroccan throne reoently took place at the
Maghreb Office in Cairo. Allal el Faesy, leader of the Istiglal Party of
French Morocco, Lbhammed Ben Aboud, Cairo representative of the Isiah Party
of Spanish Morocco, and Habib Bourguiba, leader of the Neo Destour Party
of Tunisia, were present and delivered addresses praising the Moroccan
monarch, Behind the scenes there was friction between E1 Fassy and Ben
Aboud on the question of precedence in giving speeches.
20 Abd-el-Brix and his brother were absent from the reception. They took the
occasion to make public their withdrawal from the Maghreb Office and their
intention to have nothing more to do with it. According to source, Krim
has been cool to both El Fassy and Ben Aboud, who have been trying to stag
on good terms with him.
