le Bias Manrique was deposed on 8 December as Secretary 0eneral of the Federal
District Committee of the Mexican Communist Party and Director of the
Party newspaper La Pos do Mexico, and was removed as a member of
Political Bureau and the Central Committee. Comment.
reported that fanriaue might be ousted from his nos in the Part
members of the Central Committee were in favor of expelling Manrique from
the Party altogether, but this action was not taken because a majority felt
that control over his actions could be exercised better if he remained in

by Manuel Terrazas, and the latter?s position'as Administrator has been taken
over by Ezequiel do la Crux, Source expects the other posts held by Yanrique
to be filled in the immediate future.
The action against Manrique was taken on the grounds that he was totally
lacking in discipline,, As previously reported, some members of the Central
Committee attribute this to subversion by his wife, Miriam Misky do Manrique,
who is an American national. Others suspect that his wife is working as an
espionage agent of the American government, basing this suspicion on the
allegation that Mznrique and his wife are in receipt of funds for which
they cannot account,
