The last packing case left Bunawerke in July 1948. The plant at Sohkopau was dismantled principally because the Russians wanted it to couplets their own plant. This works on an alcohol basis instead of the usual carbide process. Power sum. a) Consumption averages 102 million ma- a month. b) The faetories? own power stations produced the following power in May and Ju-e 1948. Steam and iaWr Mupu1ies. a) Steam production in May and June 1948 was as follows: May 1948 a '5%,426 tons June 1948 573, 017 tons under a pressure of 100.16 and 3.5 atmospheres. b) Water consumption was as followst I-lay 1948 1,132,700 cu. meters. June 1948 872,(00 cu., meters, Water is supplied by 2 pumping stations from the Saale, Raw I1aterials, a) Limestone - daily requirements 1,000 tons. This is supplied from the factory's quarry at Rfibeland/ Harz and is delivered in special Reichsbahn trucks to the works. b) Coke - daily requirements 5-6,000 tons. No deliveries have taken place from the Ruhr or Waldenburg since June 1948. Stocks in August 1948 could be reckoned as sufficient for a further 6 - 8 weeks. c) Anthracite stocks: none. No deliveries were taking place in August 1948. Experiments with Bohemian lignite proved a failure. d) Electrodes - Electrodes are manufactured in the works. There is no _ shortage.
