The following are the daily production figures of the combined concern
since 1943:
1943 : 3,000 to 4,000 tons a day
1945 s 2,000 tons a day
1947 s 2,000 tons a day
1948 : 400 to 50o tons a day
The drop in production for the current year is caused partly by a shortage
of skilled personnel and outworn equipment, but mainly `.y the flooding of
the mines in February 1948, rim over 400 miners lost their lives.
