1. The financial resources of King Mihai at the time of his arrival in
Western Europe following the abdication amounted to 500,000 Swiss francs.
Of this sum the King had spent 380,000 francs by the time he returned to
Europe from his short trip to the United States in 19413. queen Mother
Helen has now begun to sell her jewelry in London in order to support
the Royal establishment and the King has sold one of his automobiles.
