1. On er about 25 November 1948, an anti-aircraft unit was stationed at
Maribor. The large tunnel which had been erected during the war was reopened,
and necessary repairs were started. The whole anti-aircraft unit was
mobilised, and all preparations were made for defense against air attacks,
exactly as during the German occupation.
2. The same measures are being planned for Ljubljana, to be put in effect at
the end of December 1948.
g. There are two batteries of anti-aircraft artillery in the Ptuj' forest near
Maribor. Another battery has been set up on. the mountains above
Zidani Most - likewise an unknown number of batteries in the neighborhood
of Bled, at the very some plane where they stood during the war, between
Lesce and Zirovnioa. a few kilometers west of Lesoe. As yet no anti-
sAtoraft artillery has been placed on the Smirna Gore (north of
Ljubljana).
4d There is an extensive military reservation in the 'ohorje Mountai n `Up
to the present no transports to tt?is area have been observed.
5. A tank unit was stationed in Itranj until recently. No tanks were observed,
however, only soldiers with armored corps insignia. This tank unit
was transferred from Slovenia. and is stationed in Bela Crkva
(according to unconfirmed reports).
6. In the middle of September 1948, a squadron of about 80 pursuit planes
was observed in Split, flying south towards the Albanian frontier.
Presumably the squadron was transferred to Niksia, in Montenegro.
