2. Manuel Aleman Guerrero, a leading Nicaraguan Communist, discussed the PSN
plans at a meeting held with other Nicaraguan Communists on 4 January.
A,leman, at one time a prominent figure in local labor circles, lived , in
tliexico for about ten years until June 1948, when he left that .country for
Nicaragua. He was taken prisoner on the Honduran-Nicaraguan border by the
Guardia Nacional, and held in la kviacion prison until his release, ors.
1 January 1949. In Mexico Alean reportedly studied labor law and
sociology in the Universidad Obrera of !exico City.
3. The meeting took place in the home of Salvador Cuadra. Present- in
addition to Cuadra were Manuel Centeno Rizo, Domingo Co Garcia, Maria
Luisa larios, Juan Lorio, Rosa Amelia Pereira, Jose Francisco Pinell,
Tulin Tablada, Octavio Tenerio, and Joaquin Villalobos o

The Executive Committee of the Partido Socialista de Nicaragua (PSN) is
now making plans to organize discussion groups under the direction of the
listrict Committees for the purpose of propagandizing the Communist-
sponsored Congress for Peace and Democracy. In general the discussions will
be along cultural and political lines, and will center on the danger of a
third World War and 9 plan of action to prevent it.
