NNOT DGED to In a letter written by Pr. 0. T. Foss, United Fruit Shipping Agent, New York 4, New York, on 26 January, a quantity of arms shipped to Costa Rica was describedo The cargo, shipped from. New York on that date on the CS CAPE COD to the 11inisterio de Segurided, Costa lace, comprised the following% 25 cases of safety cartridges 11 tmrtons sub-machine gun magazines 17 cases rifles port of Limon, Costa Rica. The shipment was made for the account of Arthur Sklarew & Company, Bill of Lading No. 208, at a freight charge of $201.08. 2~ A second letter from Ross, dated 2 February 1949, stated that another shipment of arms left New York on that date, also consigned to the Ministerio de Seguridad, Costa Rica. This lot included two hundred cases of cartridges, and was written to the account of Arthur Sklarew & Company, Bill of Riding No, 72, with freight charges of :442.33. Both shipments were sent to the Swiss merchandise left Antwerp for Limon with transit New York.* 4. On 4 February 1949, an indiviaual named Julio Garcia transmitted the :following message to Junta President Ficueres from Guatemala: Negotiations concerning departure of airplane have not been taken care of.
