Cervino there is a receiving and transmica on radio station installed in the observatory of the Nuclear Physics Studies Center, which began functioning in December 1947. Center In Rome University. Transmissions are made daily, normally from 7:30 A.M. to 8930 A.M., on 40-49 motors. Sometimes transmissions are made at other hours of the day by appointment. The station begins its transmissions with the call words "America calling Ondulas" w=hich corresponds to the initials "ACO", the station's call sign. It is reported that Prof. 1 ttore Pancini,1 residing in Venice, early in 1948 requested from the General Inspector of the Telegraph and Radio- telegraph Office authorization to install a radio tranemittor at Cervino. Prof. Pancini is openly of Communist belief and took active part in Communist clandestine military activity at Venice during the German occupation. 2. The station is in daily contact with the Nuclear Physics Studies assistant at Rome University.
