10: The Jewish camp at the end of Patissia Road (Tsakona estate) is now being
used by the Palestine Immigration Bureau as a staging area for Jews in
transit from the provinces to Israel. During their stay at the cpmp,
their travel documents are put in order, after which they leave for
Israel at the expense of AJDC.
2. On 25 January 1949 a representative and two employees of AJDC went to the
camp to take an inventory of the articles there. This inventory was
taken on orders of Harold Goldfarb, local director of AJDC, and of
Solomon Bit, manager of the Palestine Immigration Bureau.
3. The arrival at the camp of Jews from the provinces for immigration to
Israel is atill going one
4. The local AJDC administration decided, effective 14 February 3949, to
stop feeding the Jews sheltered at the camp except for children less than
fie years.old. People in the camp were ordered to get ready as soon as
possible to leave for Israel. For those who cannot leave, AJDC will under-
take the responsibility to find quarters, -and they themselves will look for
work.
