a. Three separate offensives are to be launched, one at flankow, one
at Pukou, and a third at Chenchiange*

b. In, addition, a major offensive will be made to cross the Yangtze
River at Anking and Kiukiang, between Nanking and iiankow.
20 The speaker stated that the goverment will offer its major 'resistance at
Hankow and Changsha, that the Ccramunists are expected to attack early in
.April, but that there are indications the Communists are encountering
difficulties in stock piling supplies and ammunition. If the difficulties
are severe enough, the offensive may be delayed.
3o The attacks on the Pukou and Chenchiang areas, the speaker added,, are not
expected before June at the earliest, and probably much later, depending
on the procress of peace talks.
