It has been reported that an Italian lawyer and univers.ty professor, Dr.
Fernando della Rocca, has informally approached the 7cuadoran Minister of
National Defense, i?snuel Diaz Granados, statinr thi.t he represented an
association of Italian manufacturers of war materiel and that he was interested
in Selling arms and ammunition to the Ecuadoran government. Without dis-
cussing the matter, Diaz Granados replied that maador was not In a position
to purchase such materiel at this time.
