Robert Hallo agent for the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, is in Austria negotiating with Huette Liezen G.m.b.H. and SchoellereBleckmann Stabluerke for the purchase of 50,000 tons of fine steel ingots for the - manufacture Of seamless oil piping. The Austrian steel was to be sent to .DaImine, Milan, for the manufacture of the pipe and then shipped to Abadan, Iran. The Anglo-Iranian Company was to compensate the Austrian steel pills by shipping crudeoil from Abadan to refineries in Italy 'thence refined oil and gasoline was to be sent to Austria. The gasoline was first calculated at -13 11 per ton but was later increased to -L 11.11. It was not knoim how payment was to be made to Dalmine or to the Italian refineries but, in another report, source mentioned that a total of 000 tons of pipe would be sent from Dalmine to Abadan leaving a balInceof 42,000 tons of Austrian ingots which nay be used in lieu of payment. In 11111111 Anglo-Iranian 25X1A2g was elso reported to have leased the sales organization of Steaua Romana in Vienna and to have employed Manager VoreStahl. Source believes that Petrolanuts order for casing could be filled through an arrangement with Dalmine whereby the necessary steel would be shipped to Italy and processed as a part of the Angle-Iranian order. The finished casing could then be di- verted tc Austria or Romania sometime durinm the shieeent nf the loreer order of pipe to Abadan. There is same qeestion whether Dalmine is equipped to handle steel with the technical specifications of the ineots produced in Austria. ...4S9BBT/CiNeleileemmiellemeellielateweelehamm, Approved For Release 1999/09/09 : CIA-RDP82-00457R002700630009-8
