trisodium phosphate from. crude phosphates using nitric
acid.
Formerly purephosphorus had been used; this had to be

material, was begun in November ~7~948. T ie ma er a s
used for the insulation of railroad refrigerator cars.
Recently the production of certain pharmaceutical prepara-
tions was begun and at the present time small quantities
are being manufactured, r

d) The production of cyanamide fromcalcium cyana~ide was
bPgu:n in 1948, Carbam3.de is one of the principal raw
materials used for the manufacture of insulating materials.
e) There are approximately 3,500 employees at the Piesteritz
plant.
