to During the past three weeks there has been a state of extreme tension
throughout Yugoslavia. There have been continual incidents along-the

.The UDB is currently concentrating almost exclusively on internal political
security. It recently succeeded in neutralizing 11 Cominformist groups
working inside Yugoslavia under the Soviet agent, Pavel Smirnov, who was
directing sabotage operations from Bulgaria. Among those arrested were 1l
members of the Yugoslav Army (unidentified) who were immediately shot.,
while the remainder numbering 30, will soon be tried.
