The 1928, 1929 and 1930 classes have been called up. Some members of the 1930 and 1931 class who have volunteered are students who have finished high school and joined the Christo Botev Academy in order to complete their military service before the normal call-up age of 21 and before they go to college. The Christo Botev Academy also contains a number of men who failed to pass the entrance examination for the Vassil Levski Military School, but who still wish to make the Army their career, or reach the higher ranks of the Militia. There is keen competition for the limited number of vacancies in the Vassil Levski School, but there is no limitation on the numbers entering the Christo BotevoAcademy. Candidates for both of these institutions have to be approved by the Communist Party, and to be members of the Youth Workers Union (Rabotnichesko Mladejski Sayuz). Courses last for 18 months at the Christo Botev Academy aria three years at the Vassil Levski Military School. 3. All officers and men who had completed their military service received new mobilization cards during the last three months of 1948. The following changes in the mobilization cards were noted: a.. Reporting centers were, in many cases, changed. b. only the number and town of the mobilization sub-section was given, with the date (after D Day) on which the holder should report. (For Sofia, the barrack number, to which the holder should report, was given). c. The numbers of divisions, new mobilization cards.
