THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
A Chinese Communist Party (CCP) official who recently arrived in Hong; Kong,
from North China states that at the June CCP conference in Peiping, a decision
was reached to delay for one year the final decision as to whether or not an
attempt should be mare to take Hong Kong and Macao. It was further decided
that the question would be re-examined at the end of that period in the 1Ught
of the prevailing international situation at the time.
jComrent. The CCP official is in a position to ascertain if this action
had been taken. It is not believed that the decision involves the cessation
or lessening of present CCP strategy such as organizational work among Hong
Kong labor groups0
