3a .During the month of June 1949, 13,600 members of the Chinese People's Libera.tiert
Army arrived In North Korea from Manchuria to reinforce the North Korean mili-.
tary forces. The reinforcements were assigned to the following units:
2 Rifle Division at Nana m (129-41,, 41-42) 4 O00
"Field artillery unit at Chuurori ang (129-36, 41-35) 2$k,00
"People's Anrly unit" in Sohojin (127-38, 39-50) 4x800
1 Rifle Division at Sariwon (125-44, 39-50) X00
Unidentified unit in Pyongyang 1 C~f70
2. Another group of reinforcements from Manchuria is expected in July; a third
group w l arrive in August.
3. On 27 June 1949 an estimated 5,000 Korean troops arrived in Pyongyang from
an unkno^rn origin. The troops were dressed in the uniform of the Chinese
People 9 s Liberation Army,
40 By 3. July members of the Liberation Army were seen on the streets in uniforms
identical to those of the North Korean People's Army. It is believed that
the entire force changed to the uniform of-the PeoplWa Army by 5 July 1949-
5,, The Chinese "governrient" will send a number of reinforcements to North Korea
during the month of July 1949. These troops will be selected from the grout:
of Koreans who are now serving with the Chinese People ? s Liberation Army.
The number of Koreans who will arrive from Manchuria and China was not
indicated.
