Troops from the RUDOI,STADT Military Po t atop Training
Grounds
About 150 troops were quartered in both the Prinz Eugen
Kaserne and the Luftwaffen Kaserne of RUDCLSTADT (L~ 51/
J' 54) . on 7 June 1949. Soldiers trained in the Luft-
waffen Kaserne with mortars of about 80 mm caliber. A
Most of the troops from the RUDOLSTADT
ml i ary post, eft early in May 1949 for maneuvers in the
area of GIii1D.1UP (L 51/J 15). The departure of three trains
with a total of about 1,200 troops from RUDOLUTADT was ob-
served between 4 and 6 May 1949. The last of the trains
carried pontoons, nine me nt and trucks

The above report confirms that most of the troops from the
i-UDCLSTI DT military post were at the G!H?D .UP troop training
grounds at the beginning of June 1949. The ? No a Gds Engr
Bn of the 39th Gds Mtz Rifle Div apparently also partici-
pated in the CSIIDRUP maneuvers.
