1. Location:
The Rostselmash Agricultural 14ach is located on
the northeast edge of ROSTOV (390 4%111001-j 14N), Rostov OblastD
on the road to SHIAKHTI and one mile northeast of the RO STOV
freight .station.. The northeast ROSTOV suburb and suburban
railroad station are also called SELMASH.
2. Plant installations:
The plant was almost co.iplotely destroyed i_n the war. Recon-
struction work, mainly by German 4s,started in 1945. Pro-
duction was resumed in the first repaired departments in the
fall of 1946. It was planned to reconstruct all installa-
tions b- t*o=949 October Revolution Day 1'948 but this was not
25X1A done. it may have been postponed until
the 0urnier . The plant area, about 1, 00 x 3,000 feet
is densely covered with buildinr?s. Some of the new workshops
had been dismantled in one of the Herrmann Goering Plants in
the Soviet k*one of Germany and were set up iri the Rostselmash
Agricultural Machine factory. All the plant machinery, mostly
from Germany, is new. Work was done at an assembly line..
Only the foundry equipment was relatively primitive but it
was being continually improved by novel machines.. A railroad
spur track with several branch lines and three factorl-owned
locomotives is available. for plant layout,3ee Annex.

a. 'rho Rostselmash Plant is carried as
number 80 on the ROSTOV town map, dated August 1941About 20,000 workers were employed there before the war;
thus, the reported number of workers n- be correct.
b. The reported location of the plant is correct.
c. The plant installations are reported for the first time.
The data on the attached sketch require confirmation.
