The area is to be drodred to a depth of 10 to 12 resters, and other construetiou of installations is to begin soon. The location is considered good for small-scale submarine activity. Concerning the patrol activity along the Polish coast, it Is understood that it is shortly to become obligatory for Polish Coast Guard personnel to learn the Russian language sufficiently well to. be able to conduct simple conversa- tion. This requirement will first became effective in the areas of Gdansk, Gdynia, Puck, and Hal and affects principally the menbere of the !TOP. This program of instruction is to be handled by the Polish-Russian Prienaahip Society (Toinrzystwo Przy3azni Poleko-Radzieckei 1) at 'arzeszez (Danzig~Langfuhr , silica Piramowieza Nr. 1. Recently this or-anization has been making every effort to- ward en:oa.g Russian language instructors. It is assumed that this action is a forerunner of a more strict Russian control to be exercised over the '.TOP patrol-- ing the Polish coastal arse,.
