THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION 11 1 the ians had discovered new uranium deposits of the best quality under the military barracks at Pribram (N50/L53). The Russians have been concentrating their uranium prospecting in the area extending from Japhymov to Rakovnik (50 km. west of Prague) and in the. vicinity of Pribftm and Tabor. 3o In the spring of 1949 the Russians prospected for uranium deposits in the vicinity of Milin,, 7 km. southeast of Pribram. Certain areas in the forest near Milin were made restricted., and the Russians supervised the boring of ddeppwell test holes. The area of operations was enlarged during the summer. In the opinion of workers employed here., the ore is of better quality than that from Jaehymov. The better-quality ore is placed in sacks., while the rest is loaded in bulk. It is transported from Iiili.n in trucks with no markings to an unknown destination. Some of the workers live in barracks near the mine. 40 The Russians have prospected other areas in the Brdy Hills in an area extending from Prague to Pribram and south and east to the Vltava River, No $I1T icAL ,7M +i AAAAM. 44 1 61044T is ttlT T, K 1~1lR'tAt~z' ; w i Ts fN THE "1114 STAY 3.
