1 ; Dismantling operations are still underway at the Moosbierbaum, refinex.tra. SMV officials
are allegedly trying to profit by selling large quantities of materials and
equipment on their own, On 2 December 1949 the SMV started to dismantle
the "Okeros" Stockerau refinery. The Korneuburg refinery will take over what-
ever "0keros" materials and equipment it can use;. but a major portion of reserve
material stocks, boiler parts, motors, and valves will be.transferred from the
"Okeros" refinery to the main Lobau warehouse., The SMV Purchasing Office has
already paid the "0keros" management for some of the items which are being
turned over to other SMV installations.;

2. RIHA, SMV Director of the Neusiedl storage tank area, has confirmed a recent
rumor among SMV employees to the effect that the SMV is operating both a
gasoline and oil pipe line to Lundenburg, Czechoslovakia,,

3., During the past week the SMV received the following import shipments:
13 carloads containing 4,680 sacks of barite, weighing a total of
240,950 kilograms, from the Salbar Company, Lecco, Italy,
3 carloads of iron pipes, weighing 49,350 kilograms, from the Schreinik (sic)
Works in the Soviet Union.
20 crates containing 200 polishing rods (Polierstangen), weighing a total
of 4,100 kilograms, from the Dzerzhinslw riant in i3al 1,
USSR. Including this shipment, the S.'tV has received a total of
40 cases o p ping rods (Polierstangen) since 18 September 194

4, On 30 November 1949 an additional six carloads of pipe arrived in Vienna
from Lastern Germany. SMV employees noted that no documents accompanied
this shipment and G10RGYEVSKY, supervisor of USIA1s Transport Department,
handled the transfer by railroad to Matzen,,***

6. MITTEELMANN, SMV purchasing official, left Vienna for the Soviet Union on 9 Novem-
ber 1949, KASYIURA, Director of the SMV Purchasing Office, has assumed MITTFLMANNes
duties until a replacement arrives from the USSR.****
7, RIHA, who has been SMV Director of the Neusiedl storage tank area under the im-
mediate supervision of SMV Chief Mechanic Lt, Cold BA!30SHKIN, expects to be trans-
ferred to Matzen shortly.
8o During recent v,eeks, SMV employees have demanded a supplementary pay (Oberbrdckungs-
hilfe), PILLER, chief shop councilor in SMV Headquarters, discussed the subject
at length with SMV General Director CHERNOMORSKY, who finally agreed to pay each
employee 600 schillingsa This decision was ruled out later when a group of shop
cour.ct.lors from various SMV enterprises persuaded CHERNOMORSKY to agree tc a single
payment of 300 schillint,,s: So far, only the Shell,Vacuum and Van Sickle oil
companies have distributed supplementary pay? The Richard K. Van Sickle firm is
said to have Paid male employees 200 schillings and 150 schillings to female em--
ployees,, Owing to a limited monthly allotment of funds, the Austrian paymaster of
the SlV Purchasing, Office is now withholding payment on a number of large debts to
assure funds for the annual Christmas bonus as well as this supplementary pay.
