OF ENCLS (LISTED BELOW) SUPPLEMENT TO 25X1 REPORT NO. THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION 1. The 97 Air Bombardment Regiment elongs to the 37 Air Division whose headquarters are in Sombor. This division also includes the 98 and 99 Air Bombardment Regiments. When the 97 Air Bombardment Regiment was temporarily assigned for training to the airfield at Zemunik (east of Zadar), the 98 Bombardment Regiment replaced it at the Velika Qorica airfield. 2. The 97 Bombardment Regiment has 28 Soviet-type PE-2 aircraft which can also be used for dive bombing. The specifications of the aircraft are as follows: Capacity: 600-.1,200 kilograms bomb load; 1,,500 liters of gasoline (with auxiliary tanks, 2,000 liters of gasoline). Armament: 3 Soviet-type "Berezin" 12 mm heavy machine guns and 2 "Shkas"type 7.62 am machine guns. Speed : 380-400 kilometers per hour with load, and 560 kilometers per hour without load. Crew : Pilot, mechanic and observer. 3. There is a total of 400 persons including officers in the regiment. There are 36-38 pilots, 314 gunners and 36 navigators, all of whom hold officer ranks from ensign bearer to captain. The majority have graduated from aviation schools in the Soviet Union. Among them are seven senior Yugoslav pilots who are commanders of training squadrons. 4. Officers of 97 Bombardment. Regiment: Commander of the Regiment: Second Lieutenant (sic) Milan Polak.
