the Black Sea coast were finished on, 10 December 1949

In the channel yards at 11idia one dragline or a gasoline self-propelled
crane has dug 2,400 cubic meters of earth for a drainage ditch in one day..
Contests are held among crane operators as to who can dig the most earth
and the winners are given the title "Hero of the i,orking Class" and other
honors, The earth dug by these cranes is removed either by horse carts,
or in certain channel yards by Stalinetz tractors.
4. In the 1:edgfdia channel yards, on the west side of Zanali IIi1l, there are
130 horse carts assigned to carry away 100,000 cubic meters of earth from
the hill, The hill was to have been leveled by the end aL December 1949.
5. In every channel yard with the exception of the Cornavoda yard there is
a "Red Corner" or club for the Ccalmunist indoctrination of the workers.
