1. The Communists are completing, the expansion of the Soochow Airfield, south
of the city hall, with over 10.000 laborers working under Soviet supervision.
2. During March 1950 fifty Soviets in civilian clothes arrived in Soochow and
now occupy newly built western-styles houses' near the airfield.
3. By the end of March some air force equipment had arrived at the field. but
no assembled planes had been seen there.
