The following information coal obtained on Soviet troops in
Kai; r an. (1= 49/x 49)
1.. The main entrance to the old 'a,t ramer Strasse Kaserne faces
V.;intzigerodestrasse, There are turnpike and gate guards
wearing red-bordered black epaulets with artillery in:irnnia.,
#,otor vehicles entering the large parking lot south and
southeast of the kaserne move via M-tugdeburger Strasse b The
following weapons and vehicles were observed in a section
of the parking lot which could be overlooked from the out-
side:
a~ Seven guns with four rubber-tired wheOls each, a stisneted
caliber between 80 un.d 100 mm, horizontally laid medium-long
barrels Without muzzle brakes, large gun shield. One three-
axle truck was parked behind each gun.
b? Seven long-barreled guns with four rubber-tired wheels
each, caliber about 100 min, muzzle brake, one cylinder above
and two cylinders under the barrels, no gun shields. The
barrels were tipgight and rose above the cantonment buildings
sitcvluted closely behind, One three-axle truck was parked
behind each guns (The guns resembled German 88-mm AA gum
c, stx to eight armored vehicles were stored in an open
garage (no details could be observed),,
d0 One heavy tank, covered with tarpaulin, was observed from
a distance of about 200 meters, Its gun barrel-with muzzle
brake projected over the nose by two thirds of its length0
eU Two canvas-covered armored vehicles were stored in a
smal 1 shed

Si` Regt and, probably, elements of the 46th Gds ecz
fleet of the 13th Gds ~recz Div are stationed in KaZran
l ccordin.c,. to the given description,, the 1=a.. guns on the
r.arking lot near the kaserne were 76 and 85-mm AA guns,
