1.. Pilotage. Pilotage is compulsory and is carried out by the tug TRSTENIK.
ps must heave to some three and one-half miles from the port and signal
their position to the port authority. They are then towed into port by
tug. A Set channel of approach exists, but its position and limits are
not known.
2. Quays and "farehouses. There are 780 meters of quay space, including
two betties and three wharves, with eight 2-ton cranes and three 5-ton
cranes, one of which is of Hungarian origin. The cranes are operated
electrically. There are 11 warehouses, three of which are for goods in
transit.
Port Securi.t Z. Security control of the port and of foreign shipping is
carried out by members of the POS-b/Sibenik (Pomorsko Obalni Sektor
No. 4 Sibenik). Foreign sailors may go ashore with the permission of
this headquarters and may also board Yugoslav ships. When they disembar4
they are accompanied by Yugoslav sailors who are agents of the POS-4.
!t. Oil Storage Tanks near Sibenik. There are four underground gasoline tanks
aaKrapan , two s -underground, with a capacity of 15,000 liters each,
and six underground gasoline tanks and three semi-underground tanks at
Zlarin with a capacity of 15,000 liters each.
5. Naval -.orksho. A special underground naval workshop, known as No. 7,
Is un er cons ruction at Molinje (sic), in the Bay of Kotor for the repair
and construction of submarines.
