co Location: Lattalion headquarters in a two-story building
in 1:yrsko. :oat of the component units in the cantonment
south of Nyrsko. Some component units in Lys trio e .(N 50/

d. .ufficers: ::;aj Kocian was CO of the battalion. A staff
captain was the ranking officer in the cantonment.
e. Technical company:
(1) Uumbered about GO men up to early December 1949. The
following personnel uere retained for special courses:
11 telephone operatord to Lenesov 5o/L 95),
16 radio operators to Vlasim (0 50/1 14)9
8 engineers to Terezin (14 51/F 53),
1 telephone and 2 radio mechanics to Zabroh (P 50/N 58).
(2) The gas masks of the company were replaced by new ones in
'mid-October 19490
(3) About 100 rifles and abut 60 submachine guns of a novel
type were kept in the company's ordnance room.
f. Vehicles: Uorse-drawn vehicles and some trucks were ob-
served in the cantonment.
ea Border obstaclas: Two rows of cheveaux-de-frise in front
of. a 3 to 4-meter-deep AT ditch, running parallel to the bor-
der, were observed in the eras between Sv. KatarinaI (N 510/
P es) and Zadni Chalupy Uiinterhauser N 50/O 98) during a
practice march in November 1949.

Comment:

liviezdoslava" by order of the Ainistrv of lattnnal hnfena
in April 1949.
the NCO school,
td6ether with the III?Bn of the 3rd sic had been in
Lipnik, since the battalion has been identified in Jo-
ravska Ost)ava it is considered
probable that the school may also have been loved from
Lipnik.
