1. Anton Yugov is reportedly again in "'full favor" following a public
confession of past errors. Yugov is said to be serving again as Vide
Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and is presently a member of the
Politburo of the Bulgarian Communist Party.
2. Ivan Strafanov, former Minister of Finance, is still in prison but is
now permitted to receive visits from his wife who is of French origin?
Stefanov is said to anticipate that he will shortly be released.
3. Certain officials of the Bulgarian Foreign Office expect the United
States to resume "limited diplomatic relations" in the near future,
4. Bulgarian diplomatic officials who have recently visited Bulgaria have
stated on returning to their posts that no military preparations against
Yugoslavia are under consideration by the Bulgarian Government.
5. Bulgarian officials reportedly anticipate an excellent grain crop in
1950.
