In American very high frequency equipment,, which is being installed in the IL-12
by the Poles,, was taken from the United States Government surplus Dakotas pur-
chased by Poland after the war. The Poles found lb).ssian Konandna ja very high
frequency equipment unsatisfactory.
2a One pilot describes the IL-12 as a "nervous aircraft". In. cloud flying., for
instance,, if the pilot takes his eyes from the artificial horizon for a moments
he will probably find that one wing haz dropped without his feeling arq reaction
on the controls. In rough weather a considerable amount of strength is needed
to hold the rudder controls and,, if a small amount of ice forms,, the machine
vibrates excessively. The IL-12 is manufactured at Tashkent in Siberia.
