THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. An oxygen factory existed in Kucove prior to the war, but was destroyed
by the Germans when they withdrew. After the war the factory was rebuilt
on the same site and the building material used was mainly that of the
old factory. The factory has recdntly been working at full production
and has attained its pre-war output. At the end of 1949 the factory had
approximately 600 flasks of oxygen.
2. Experiments have been conducted to substitute oxygen and acetylene by
methane during boiling, and results have proven that methane provides
very good results during the cuttings but not during the boiling, the lat-
ter necessitating special instruments. However, the idea is considered to
be very good and feasible, and it is felt that tests and experiments in
this line should be continued.
