The Chinese Communists were ordered to complete preparations for the Taiwan invasion before 15 July 1950, and were warned that, if Taiwan was not taken in July, their chance of an invasion was gone, because .unerica is strengthen- ing anti-Communist defenses in the Far &ast. The Communists were also told that America was intending to organize 100,000 to 150,000 Japanese volun- teers to participate in the anti-Communist struggle on Taiwan. .arly in July a second directive to the Chinese Communists ordered them to prepare for the Taiwan invasion during the latter part of July or early August.* 2.
