In Oranienburg as at the other airfields in the Soviet
Zone of German Isa squadron of jet planes seems to be
kept ready for immediate take-offs.
No details are available on the fitting of auxiliary
tanks or bombs on conventional fighter planes.
According to available information the factory at the
northeastern corner of the field is used as an ammu-

(5) Oranienburg airfield is occupied by. a fighter regiment
equipped with Yak-9s and type 14 jet planes. From avail-
able reports the number of jet planes stationed- at the
field is estimated at 25 to 30. A transfer of Yak-9s
type aircraft was not observed, although only 20 Yak-9s
have recentlybeen seen at the field. The arrival of
new jet planes was not reported, in recent months. It is
possible, therefore, that the boxes, probably crates for
the shipping of jet planes, are from the first shipment
of jet planes.
