THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION 25X1 25X1 to At Szgkesfeh6rvar, near the edge of the city along the main highway (from Budapest?), there are two barracks occupied by Russian infantry. Two other barracks of recent construction are located on the secondary road leading to the village of Zdmoly (Z 01), and also near the edge of the city. These barracks contain infantry units and two parks for tanks. It is estimated that there are 200 T-.34 tanks and 140 JS tanks there. There are also three heavy artillery units, fuel stores, and other depots of Soviet Array materiel. The city is a Soviet military zone, and there are no Hungarian units in the area. A Russian airport is located eight kilometers north of Szakesfehervar. 2, At Szombathely there are no Soviet or Hungarian troops, There is one Hungarian police unit charged with guarding the Austro-Hungarian frontier, 3. One infantry division is camped in the neighborhood, with an artillery group, a tank park, and other war materiel, 5. At Baja there is a T-34 tank k, three Soviet infantry regiments, the lot Hungarian Division (8,000 men two Hungarian parachute regiments, and two fuel depots. 6, At Zalabaksa (E 99) there are no troops. However, in the neighborhood there is a concentration of Russian and Hung rian troops, a tank park, and a para- chute training field. 7. At Nagykanizsa there are concentrations of Soviet and Hungarian troops, as well as fuel depots, 200 JS tanks, heavy artillery of Czech origin, two self- propelled AA batteries, and the let and 2nd Hungarian Parachute regiments (sic), At Mohacs there is one Soviet armored division, the "First Internutional Brigade", three Hungarian infantry regiments, about 120 tanks, and a Soviet flame-thrower park which has recently been transferred to IAohecs. No new road or railroad construction is going on; but a road in the vicinity which was considerably damaed during the var is in course of repair and enlargement. At B6kescsaba there is a tank depot with 70 JS tanks; also a large fuel depot at the northern entrance to the city. mm~xts Russian and Hungarian troops are never concentrated in cities, nor n places visible to the population. The Soviet troops in Hungary are stationed, for the most part, in the Szskesfehervfr military zone, in the woods around Papa, in the vicinity of haloosa (N 31), in the "puszta" plains of Debrecen, in Komarom and Gyer, and in areas which on Soviet orders are inaccessible to public transit of any sort.
