During the last week of Toby 1950 the SMV stopped production at the Voesendorf`-,
refinery preparatory to enlarging plant facilities. SMV employees have lzeen;l:,
advised that the Voesendorf refinery will resume production on or Ebout 1
1950. Meanwhile the Vacuum Oil Company refinery has stepped up production
in order to fulfill current commitments of the Voesendorf plant. The Nova-
Denow refinery is now operating at full capacity; the Soviets are shin ping its
entire output to the Satellites and the USSR.
The S 14V is now despatching a daily average of three trains loaded with petroleum
products from Wifo-Lobau via Lundenburg, Czechoslovakia to the Balkans. Another
train loaded with refined and lubricating oil is sent from Wifo-Lobau to the
SI4V Central Warehouse in Neusiedl, every day.

5. During April 1950 the SW! Central Warehouse in Neusiedl a/d Zaya completed
transactions valued at 25, 332, 282 46 schillings; in May 1950 the turnover
(Umsa.tz) reached a total of 30,183,174.30 schillings,
6. During tho last week of May 1950 the SMV Central Warehouse in Neusiedl a/d
Zaya received the _following shipments:
16,350 kilograms of pipe from Kuibishev Sartana.
80,180 kilograms of pipe from Chrompik.
22,230 kilograms of pipe from Kirsavot (sic)
11,1.40 kilograms of ripe from Kritavot (sic).
33,710 kilograms of pipe from an unidentified station in the USSR.
5 crates., weighing a total of 178 kilograms, of geological
equipments manufactured by a Ukrainian subsidiary of
the Soviet Werke flr Geophysik, Kiev-Petrovska.
2 carloads containing 37,810 kilograms of pipe from I?Ietall
Import Trust, Zurich.
1 carload containing 15,21.0 kilograms of pipe from Csepel,
Hungary.
3 tankcars of hydrochloric acid from Novoty, Hungary.
The following shipments arrived at the SMV Central Warehouse in Neusiedl a/d Zara,
during the period of 1-19 June 1950:
2 carloads containing 52,540 kilograms of pipe from the
Andreyeva works, T:hga.nrog.
;I carload containing 31, 620 kilograiis of pipe from Metall
Itr;port Trust, Zurich.
2 carloads containing 24, 260 kilograurs of drilling tools
from Iietall Tiny-ort Trusts Zurich.
2 carloads containing 2#;,240 kilograms of pipe from Germany.(1)
3 carloads containing 43,110 kilograms of pipe from Osepel,
Hungary.

8. To date, the USIA-controlled firm, .Eisen- and Stahl A.G., has shipped six
carloads of steel scrap, four carloads of cast-iron scrap, and one carload
of sh 'et, metal from the Vifo-Lobnu storage depot to Hungary and Rumania.

10. Tho S1,1V recently ordered large quantities of ball bearings from ifaschner,, what
allegedly has a brother who is employed by SKF in Germany. Maschner claims he
can su i-3.y all types of ball bearings for prices 50 per cent loner than ; XF
list prices. Since Maschnor insists that the S14V provide an unofficial bill
of lading for each shipmenit.. SI'V employees are inclined to believe he is sell-
Ing stolen ball bearings. (2)
11 The 31.7 has disihrsed the following payments to USIA for recent purchases of
pipe. one paytent in the amount of 28,350,000 schillinga, and two smaller
payments of 1,007,501.73 and 553,635 sahillings, respectively. It is believed
that the two sr; ,ller payrrenta were for pipe sup ,lied by Metall Im -ort Trust,
Zur:Ich. In this connection S.MV employees have learned that Schenker & Co. A.G.
imT-orted this pipe from Switzerland and then turned it over to Juschwneschtrans
in Vienna for delivery to the SMV Central Uarehouse.(3)

13. SIN Headquarters has advised Matzen officials that as of 15 June 1950 the
S17; Purchasing Office will handle all purchases which are made for the
Matzen oil fields. Reasons for this decision are not known.

According to Diwald, an SLAT rurchasing agent, the SV now employs a total
of 2,126 workers in the Matzen area.
SNIV Personnel
15. In addition to his job as director of the Neusiedl storage tank area, ktihs,
has been assigned to the S;:V Transport Section in the A.Porr A.G. building.
Along with this appointment, Rihals salary has been raised to 2,100 schill-
ings per month.

which is almost ready for delivery to Yugoslavia. The Soviets, however,
are considering confiscation of this equipment.
