The meteorological observatory of Land i.iec.?;1enburg was in
a villa at 15 Strandiromenede? ~.arnetnuende0 It was headed
by ISinisteriairat Professor Fallkenberg;, Key l.ersonnel in-
cluded graduate jhysiciat Dr. Bols (fnu), head of the ine-
eorological research section; Dr. Knauer (fnu), and Kneike
(fnu), weather forecasters; and ketevon (fnu), head of the
synol,tics section, :t~
This observatory cool.erates with the central observatory in
:cotsdam and a Soviet naval office in :'arnemuende. Daily
weather reLorts and other concurrent observations are de-
livered to this naval office by messenger.
30 The Soviets seem to be keenly interested in the work of this
meteorological observatory. The Soviets also use the British
weather bulletins to check their own forecasts.
-A The .large new administration building of the 'Tarnow Shipyard,
vvernemuende, has been coct leted and all rooms have been oocu-
tried.
Construction of an acetylene super-,dent with a carbide cab
,L.acity of Soo kg has been started in the yard. It is meant
