The Chinese Communist Government Ambassador and seven members of his
staff have arrived in Djakarta. Twenty-four additional staff members
are to arrive by ship in a few days and seventy more in a few weeks,,
It is not knovm whether these fi;ures include families.
2. As far as can be ascertained tt general feeling of many Indonesian
officials, principally those in the ministry of Foreign Affairs, is
that they will bend over backwards to appease members of the Chinese
Embassy.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, verbally requested the police to take
proper security measures for the protection of the members of the
Chinese Embassy because "there 'ii:;ht be some American violence
perpetrated against them.t/
