On 3 August 1950 a group of 24 Chinese students from iialaya, who had been
taken into the Chinese Communist tarty in late July 1950, arrived in Hong
Kong on the 53 i UEIYANG, Butterfield and Swire, The group was led by
LO Shou.ch' un (,,. and LO ho-chs i ( ) , who stayed at
the Chung an Trading Company, fourth floor, 26 Des Voeua Road West, while
in Hong Kong.* On 5 August 1950, the students sailed for Swatow on the
