1. Three to four hundred Soviet soldiers were quartered in a
section of the barracks south of P1. 9-go Maja Square and
east of the main railroad station in Lodz on 27 June 1950.
They were restricted to quarters.

Comments The same source previously reported that the
in1n Lodz was unchanged prior to 3 June 1950. See
Since Soviet troops had not been in Lodz for a
long time, it was then believed that source meant that no,
Soviet troops had arrived in the city by that time. The
Soviet soldiers observed in Lodz on 27 June 1950 possibly
belonZed to one of the Soviet guard units employed along
trunk lines and traffic centers,
