On 27 June 1950 twelve captive balloons were observed on the ground about
500 maters west of the Dornitz t:iai eburgerforth road, about 3 1c north
of Doernitz. The balloons .sere from 10 to 12 meters in diameter a ':ad
a basket accomodating two men, Sentries wearing blue epaulets guarded the
balloons and 20 to 25 trucks parked nearby. A patch of woods in that
area, about 6 acres in size, was cut. (2)
