Soviets apparently attach great importance to the availability of adequate
fire fighting equipment at bridges since this point is dealt with at great
length for every bridge mentioned, Some of the existing bridges are not
listed. It is not clear tether they wore intentionaly omitted or whether
reports on there were not requested by the Soviets since they are destroyed.
These bridges include the -"der River bridges in Schwedt, t?euglietzen, Neu- 50X1-HUM

It is a steel structure resting on four concrete piers. It is 90-meters
long and has a carrying capacity of 60 tons. Slight damages were repaired.
The bridge across the Oder River in Kuestrin is also on National Highways

over the Oder River near Frankfurt (0 53/V 63) was built 300 meters do-?m-
stream from the former highway bridge which was destroyed, It is a wooden
structure with a roadway 8 meters Zvide. The old Oder River bridge in

3reslau via Frankfurt. It is still destroyed. It had eight spans, each
30 meters long. It is planned to rebuild it in its original form, using
the bridge piers that remain. The superstructure of the bridge is to be

be built this year, the reconstruction of the bridge proper being postponed
until 195ii. Clearance work for the reconstruction of the piers is now in
progress, The bridge near Bademeusel is can the Autobahn from Berlin to
the Upper Silesian industrial area via Breslau. It was repaired as an
emergency bridge. The bridge acrossthe Neisse River in Goerlitz is on
National Highways No 6 and 11$ which run from Dresden to Liegnitz via Goer-
litz? It has been reconstructed as an emergency bridge.
