1. There are about 3,000 reserve officers living in tents on the outskirts of
Sofia who are undergoing courses of advanced training. It is reported that
thoy have recently b-on Joined by Soviet officers. These Soviet officers
arrived during the latter part of July.
2. On 8 August, new individual draft calls were issued for Bulgarian reservists.
It is not yet knorm whether these reservists are officers or onlistod men.
3. The barracks of 1 and 6 Infantry Regiments of 1 Division of Sofia are empty
at the present tithe.
4. Units (unnamed) of 3 Army of Shumen are reported to be moving toward the
Yugoslav.-Bulgari i border.
5. During the latter part of July there was a wave of arrests and family dis-
placements in the region immediately north of the Greek border. Three hundred
families were moved from the tievrokop area to an unknown destination in the
Northern part of Bulgaria*
