On the afternoon of 27 July 1950 the following aircraft were observed. at the
Parchim Qz 5i./T 7L) airfield: three gray, single-engine, low wing monoplanes
with radial engines, two dark-gray, twin-engine planes with radial engines,
one light-green, single-engine low-wing monoplane, and 17 aluminum-colored
jet fighters with swept-back wings and rudder assemblies sloping rearward.
No flying was observed.*

Four jet fighters with swept-back wings, five single-engine planes with

in-line engines, and one biplane were parked at tl;e field on 31 July 1950.
The interior of the hangars could not be seen. *
Comment, The report again confirms the occupation of the airfield by
one 11-gMer unit. According to the number of planes it is one fighter regi-
ment. This regiment is equipped with La-9s and type l4 planes. The exact
number of jet planes assigned to the regiment has not been learned. Thirty-
three J.at aircraft were counted in May 1950. See Fewer Diet 25X1 A
planes were repeatedly counted at the field after ,say " . `iowever, the
occupation of the hangars has never been observed and it is possible that
onal planes were parked in the hangars.
Comment. Fighters (single-engine planes) with in line engines,
apparently Yaks., have not been previously observed in Parchim.
